Surface Architectural Supply Projects by RD Weis

Surface Architectural Supply and all their products use reclaimed wood from thousands of feet of material pulled from old barns that would normally end up in landfills. Through their skilled craftsmen, Surface has transformed these natural resources into beautiful high-quality new uses that tell a story of historical spirit preserved through innovative design.

Surface is a company promoting sustainability in the best way possible – by example. Most of the wood is sourced from structures that are many years old, some dating back as far as the Civil War.

Their reclaimed and sustainable lumber is hand selected for the best look. The reclaimed wood is then cleaned, de-nailed and re-sawn. Next, sterilization and kiln-drying occurs. The wood is then cut into wide planks before being milled to standard thickness.

The majority of our materials are sourced from the Shenandoah Valley, a mere 150 miles away from Richmond. Our materials qualify for MR-5 Regional Materials and MR-4 100% Post Consumer Recycled LEED credits.
