RD Weis specified, designed and installed approximately 250 square yards of Milliken Color Field Carpet Planks in the Horace Mann Center at Westfield State University in Westfield, MA. The independent, custom logo installed was a new offering from Milliken. All work was performed on an MHEC State Contract.
RD Weis was asked to present several flooring options for use on the campus lounge. A main obstacle was bringing everyone on board with the color selection. The school wanted to see some samples with blue in it as blue is a color in the logo for their school.
Milliken Color Field Carpet Planks were chosen along with walk off carpet for the entryway using Milliken Walkoff Quadrus. It delivers underfoot comfort, improved acoustics and durability. The product has been designed to stop dirt and moisture at the door, while allowing easy removal during maintenance, similar to the Color Field Carpet Planks.
The project was a success, transforming the once drab communal area into a welcoming spot for the students.
