We had a very good show at the MHEC EXPO last week!
Thank you all for coming by the booth to talk with us about floor care, installation, specifications for the correct products, raised flooring, Library acoustic options, and the many other topics that came up. We will be following up with each of you and look forward to delving more into the issues that impact you and your institutions. We had a really good time and it was a great show. Randy with Peggy Weis, who had two pieces of art at the 911 ceremony at JFK Airport.
To the right of the art piece is Joe Clabby, President of the JFK Chamber of Commerce and CEO of Corporate Loss Prevention, and next to him is Al DePhillips VP of Chamber and Operations Manager for Airways Maintenance.
The event is worked on for the entire year after each 9/11 Memorial by the JFK Chamber of Commerce Board. It involves hundreds of people with representatives from the Airport, the Airline industry – United and American the flights that were hijacked – the Port Authority Police, NYPD and NYFD, First responders, Nassau County Police and local elected officials led by Congressman Gregory Meeks.
Also notable is that the JFK Chamber and the Port Authority are working together to locate a permanent monument at the airport with a 17,500 lb. piece of steel girder from the Twin Towers that Peter has worked on tirelessly to clean, restore, and reclaim to a presentable condition.

RD Weis Companies/CTS Flooring Group/PASS (Professional Athletic Sports Surfaces) had their 2018 Sales Meeting last weekend on Friday, June 1st and Saturday, June 2nd to share industry knowledge on standardization, productivity, and accountability!
On the first day, Randy Weis opened up with an introduction and meeting objectives. Rochelle Carrington spoke about Sales Productivity and how to bring back the passion. Ayse Saziman, Human Resources Consultant of Tarpey Group HR Solutions, discussed Sexual Harassment in the workplace and Law and Hostile Workplaces as the greatest liability for any company.
The next day, Randy Weis and Michael Callaghan took the reins and dug deep into the topics of “Standardization, Productivity & Accountability.” Randy presented a Company Overview and Strategic Direction for the team, followed by Michael’s discussion of the Sales Strategy and Process to build a proposition of our values as a company.
Later on Saturday, James McVoy, Rob Shannon, Suzanne Kolb, and Rob McGill, shared company Elevator Stories with 15-minute exercises. Rob Shannon discussed Floor Care, Mark Arbogast spoke about Hard Surfaces. VicFotia gave a robust Operations Update. Michael Callaghan led a conversation on all that our company has to offer in a Platter Discussion. As part of Associate Development, Michael then discussed, Social Styles and the Art of Neuroscience, to better understand our teammates, and to accommodate our clients. Michael reviewed Strategic Sales Tools and introduced a 10-Step Process. Randy adjourned the meeting.

RD Weis Companies threw a holiday party, celebrating the retirement of Charmaine Merkel as well as the anniversaries of Angela Zeolla, Kim Francais, and Jenny Henry. Thank you for your loyalty and contributions to the company, as well as your invaluable friendship!
Charmaine has had over 20 years of Project Management experience in the flooring industry, and worked as the CTS Floorings Service Channel Specialist for 19 years. Congratulations on your retirement!
Angela Zoella joined RD Weis in 1998, as Accounting Manager, after four years’ experience in office management and production. She’s been handling all of the company’s day–to–day accounting operations for 20 years now. Thank you!
Kim Francis joined RD Weis Companies in 2008 after fifteen years in the spa industry where she won several awards. Her service background, humor, and concern for others has made Kim a great asset to our Telemarketing/Marketing and National Accounts departments. We’re happy to have had you with us for 10 years now!
Lastly, we’d like to thank Jenny Henry, whose experience in the industry working with commercial flooring made her a perfect fit as the Project Manager for CTS. Thank you for your 35 years of service and loyalty!
